Since the late 1950's, the Wharton Training High School Alumni and Ex-Students Association (WTHSAEA) has awarded scholarships to deserving high school seniors in the Wharton Community. Giving financial assistance to Wharton community high school graduates who are entering Universities, Junior Colleges and Trade Schools is still one of our primary goals. The WTHSAEA encourages applicants to enter the Wharton Junior College Nursing Program. We also hope recipients are inspired to follow the example of the WTHSAEA in mentoring other Wharton community youth.
To apply, please complete the application form below.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a graduating senior with a connected legacy to Wharton Training High School (a descendant or a relative of a descendant of an ex-student of WTHS).
- Must be a high school student in good standing with high morals.
- Must have at least a 2.50 GPA (on a 4.00 scale)
Application Guidelines and Requirements:
- Must submit a current official high school transcript.
- Must submit a recommendation(s) from a counselor, faculty member, employer, or Pastor.
- Must submit an essay of 100 - 200 words addressing the following topics: How are you connected to WTHS? Why should we select you? What are your hobbies and interests? What can you do to make this a better society? What are your future goals and how you plan to achieve them?
